這處座落於河岸邊的精緻住宅，不僅是業主踏入人生新階段的「起家厝」，更是一處讓心靈休憩的私人領域。我們透過設計為業主重新定義，家，不只是機能性的使用與堆疊，更是專屬於業主的、充滿他所喜愛的日式風情的秘密基地。

織光：解構有限坪數中的通透邊界

原始基地受限於單面採光的格局，室內空間視覺上稍嫌擁擠。幸而在客變階段大膽剔除客廳與書房的隔牆，我們遂將那抹臨河的粼粼波光，溫柔地引渡進室內的每一處角落。

設計上，為了降低小坪數帶來的視覺限制，我們用材質模糊了客餐廳的邊際。一抹流暢的地坪轉換，無聲地宣告空間功能的遞變；一座優雅的木質中島，則如橋樑般銜接著現代俐落的廚房與溫潤的和式場域兼具彈性用途及美觀。廚房透過拉門的巧妙界定，讓生活在摩登與雅緻之間，找到了最完美的平衡點。

紋理：在侘寂與明亮間的重疊演繹

設計之初，我們花了相當的時間抓住業主心中那抹模糊的「日式」縮影，透過來回的推敲與討論，最後才打造出「紋理感」強烈的明亮日系風格。

大量的木質元素織就了空間的骨架，每一道格柵都像是一首嚴謹的俳句，疏落有致。最令人驚嘆的，莫過於那片仿若和紙質感的拉門，當光線穿透而過，細碎的纖維紋理在室內氤氳開來，與牆面那道圓弧壁龕的微光相互呼應。這種帶有「粗獷感」的明亮，讓空間在日式的靜謐中，多了一份個性與沈穩。

彈性：獨處的沈醉，群聚的餘興

這個家不僅是屬於業主的私人領域，更是一處溫暖的待客空間。考慮到業主日常的生活習慣以及與親友不時相聚的使用需求，我們賦予書房區最大的使用彈性--透過和紙風格拉門的開闔來快速轉換空間的使用方式。書房在白晝是通透寬敞的閱讀領域與收藏展示區；到了夜晚，只要將和紙拉門關上就能迅速轉化為溫馨的客房，提供親友留宿。臥榻的設計，不僅增加了收納功能，更讓窗外的河景成了最奢華的背景。

照明方案更點亮了這件作品的靈魂，從玄關延伸至餐廳的線燈，如同一道指引的光徑；客廳採用的間接照明，則在天花板與櫃體邊緣，暈染出如夕陽落山般的溫暖氛圍。

結語：餘溫後的雋永

這件作品，是與業主共同打磨出來的藝術品。在每一片木料、每一盞暖光、每一道格柵中，我們看見了業主對生活的講究。空間的使用，不再是坪數上的侷限，而是在現代與傳統的縫隙中，綻放出的和式大器。

Prologue: Starting Out, Returning Home

This exquisite riverside residence serves not only as the homeowners' lucky home embarking on a new chapter of life, but also as a private sanctuary for the soul. Through design, we redefined what “home” means for them: not merely a functional arrangement of spaces, but a personal retreat, an intimate secret base infused with the Japanese aesthetics they deeply cherish.

Weaving Light: Reframing Openness Within a Compact Footprint

The original site's single-sided lighting layout created a visually cramped interior. Fortunately, during the customization phase, we boldly removed the partition wall between the living room and the study. This allows us to gently invite the shimmering riverside reflections into every corner of the space.

In design, to soften the spatial limitations of a smaller footprint, we use material transitions to blur the boundaries between living and dining areas. A seamless shift in flooring quietly signals the progression of function, while an elegant wooden kitchen island acts as a bridge, connecting the modern, streamlined kitchen with a warm Japanese-inspired setting, offering both flexibility and aesthetic appeal. With sliding doors subtly defining the kitchen zone, everyday life finds its perfect balance between modernity and elegance.

Texture: An Interpretation Combining Wabi-Sabi and Radiance

At the outset of design, we spent considerable time capturing the homeowner's vague notion of a “Japanese-style” essence. Through thoughtful discussion and careful refinement, we ultimately crafted a bright Japanese-inspired style with a strong emphasis on texture.

The abundant wooden elements weave the space's structure, each grille like a meticulously crafted haiku, well-spaced and harmonious. The most breathtaking feature is the sliding door, reminiscent of washi paper. When light filters through, its delicate fiber textures diffuse throughout the room, harmonizing with the soft glow emanating from the curved wall niche nearby. This luminous yet slightly rugged quality allows the space to remain tranquil in its Japanese restraint, while gaining depth, personality, and calm maturity.

Flexibility: Serenity in Solitude, Joy in Gathering

This home is not only a private retreat for the homeowners, but also a welcoming space for hosting guests. Considering the homeowner's daily habits and the need to occasionally host gatherings with friends and family, we design the study area for maximum flexibility, effortlessly transforming its function by opening or closing the washi-inspired sliding doors. By day, the study serves as a bright, spacious reading area and display space for treasured collections. At night, simply closing the washi-inspired sliding doors transforms it into a cozy guest room for friends and family to stay. The built-in daybed design not only adds storage functionality but also frames the river view outside the window as the most luxurious backdrop of all.

The lighting scheme further illuminates the soul of this piece: the linear light extending from the entryway to the dining area becomes a guiding path, while indirect lighting in the living room softly washes across ceiling edges and cabinetry, evoking the warmth of a sunset settling beyond the horizon.

Epilogue: The Lingering Grace After the Warmth Fades

This work is an artistic creation meticulously crafted in collaboration with the homeowners. In every piece of wood, every warm light, and every wooden grille, we witness their devotion to the details of living well. Here, the use of space transcends mere footprint limitations. Instead, within the intersection of modernity and tradition, a graceful and expansive Japanese elegance quietly unfolds.
